Funeral Wake
September 10, 2017

On a very hot day in June the Toot Sweets Trike was invited to attend the Retro Fundraising Day (our second year).  We love attending this event as it’s very well run, the communication is super efficient and the people attending are lovely – all of which makes our life a lot easier as we know where, when and how we need to set up before we arrive.

This year, the sun came out in all it’s blazing glory and it was a very hot day indeed.  A great day for icecreams in fact!

We normally find that icecreams don’t start selling until lunchtime once people have had something savoury and we worked out our stock taking this into account.  This year we were surprised to find that as soon as the event opened we had a queue very early on and the demand for our icecreams didn’t stop.

As a result we had sold out by 2.30pm and had to disappoint some people attending who had waited until after lunch to come back and buy a soft scoop icecream.

What makes our icecreams and sorbet so good?

Well, the icecream is locally made and gluten free.  It tastes amazing and is served in quality waffle cones or in our eco-friendly 100% compostable tubs with an FSC spoon.   We also bring along our sundae table – this is full of lots of toppings so that our customers can “pimp their icecreams” as they wish to create their own ice cream sundaes….. sauces, syrups, marshmallows, jelly babies, sprinkles are all included. The sorbet is suitable for vegans and those with a dairy intolerance (we always bring along an option so that we don’t leave anyone out) and is made from local fresh seasonal fruits.  What’s more they all taste sublime!.

It’s a great addition and lovely to see people of all ages getting stuck into the toppings.  Watching the delight on all the faces as they get to choose what they add to their icecreams is wonderful.  It takes everyone back to their childhood and making their own ice cream creation.
